Artist biography
Bhya Sugai Mortoza is an artist and designer, born in the modernist capital of Brazil, Brasília. With a career that includes diverse creative experiences, living in Florianópolis and Rio de Janeiro, she now calls Lisbon home.
Being raised in a multi-cultural family that carried both Japanese and Portuguese roots, Bhya finds herself constantly exploring the encounter of different perspectives into oneness and non-duality.
The experience of coming back to her origins, coming back to Portugal, inspired the creation of Azure.
With a degree in Graphic Design from PUC-Rio and a master’s degree in Design Management from IADE – European University, Bhya is passionate about expressing herself through a healing consciousness of non-duality, oneness, and artistic creation.
As an artisan, she brings a unique craftsmanship to her work, blending tradition and innovation in every piece.
The practice and philosophy
Azure originates within a moment of active meditation, reflection, and conscious intention. Azure's intention is one of peace and transformation into balance and unity, a state available to each one of us. Within this consciousness of peace, freedom, intuition, joy, integrity, and love are available to be experienced. Each work is imbued with this intention, inviting others to connect with it in their own unique way.
At the core of Azure lies the opportunity for each person to experience healing and the profound need to return to balance and harmony with life.
The hope is that, in appreciating these works, people are reminded of who they truly are and feel enveloped by the loving experience that is available to them.
